Well, your first step in searching for a job is writing a CV. Think of it as your other self. The task is to make the first impression positive and to be attractive in general. So, here are some recommendations on how to write this extremely important document.
Firstly, you should define what field is interesting to you and what exactly you want to do. It is also important to indicate your specific work experience while writing a CV. If you are open to a few different positions, it would be nice to create a couple of CVs for each of them. This will increase a chance for you to be hired.
The structure of a CV:
• Main information
In this part you need to write your full name, date of birth and contacts. Furthermore, add your photo here. There is a chance of subjective evaluation by the photo, so take it serious while choosing it.
• Education
This part is simple enough. Just indicate all the educational institutions you studied at. Don’t forget about specialty you obtained as well as additional education (trainings, courses, etc.), if the knowledge and skills acquired there are valuable for you as a specialist.
• Work experience
Indicate all the places of work in reverse chronological order (the last company you worked for should be the first in your list). Indicate specific responsibilities you had. If you performed practically the same functions in several companies, it is better to paraphrase rather than to copy the same text. It is not necessary to specify the entire list of companies where you worked. Choose the experience that is really necessary for the job you are applying for.
• Additional Information
Here you can indicate foreign languages you speak and other skills and qualities you have such as computer skills, personal qualities, hobbies, interests and anything else that is important to you.
Visualization
• CV should have a clear structure and be concise.
• The maximum size of a CV is 2 pages.
• It’s advisible to choose standard fonts (Arial, Verdana, etc.). Highlight only the most important points.
• Don’t use many different font sizes and types as it makes it difficult to understand.
What is important:
• Be ready for any questions on each point of your CV. If you are not sure about something, just do not write it at all.
• If you indicate someone who can give recommendations, be sure this person will recommend you only in a positive way.
